The main business of KNG is production and the sale of natural gas, which is a valuable domestic resource and as the first natural gas business corporation in Japan, KNG has contributed in the development of industry and life in the region. Moreover, while global warming is becoming more and more severe, natural gas is expected to have a comparatively less environmental burden as a fossil fuel and till now, KNG has contributed in maintaining the environment by expanding the sales of natural gas. In addition, to gain even more trust from all the stakeholders, KNG is taking the utmost efforts to manage the business on the basis of the management philosophy and management policies of our group. We have acquired ISO 14001 certification, which is the International Standard for environmental management systems, and strengthened corporate governance to satisfy both the legalities and the efficiency of our business. We are always aware of the social responsibilities of our company and while accomplishing the public mission of stable supply of valuable domestic resources, we are also going all-out for compliance management, securing the safest security systems and promoting the business activities that take into consideration the environment in order to strive for a sound and continuous business development in the future.

We seek to harmonize our natural gas business with the natural environment to fulfill our social responsibility as an enterprise that makes the best use of the blessings of the earth. To that end, we will operate under the following environmental policy.

1. We will strive to achieve safe, efficient operation and stable supply to expand the use of natural gas, an excellent environmentally friendly energy resource.
2. We will observe all relevant environmental statutes in the conduct of our business, and continuously strive to improve our environmental management system.
3. We will process the waste generated in the conduct of business properly to decrease the environmental burden, and to achieve resource and energy conservation strive to reduce waste generation and increase recycling of the waste generated.
4. We will endeavor to harmonize our natural gas business with the natural environment, and to prevent adverse environmental impact from pollution and accidents.
5. We will continually strive to raise the environmental awareness of employees and educate them to take the initiative in environmental protection, while continuing research and development for environmental preservation.
