What is natural gas

Natural gases

Natural gases are gases resulting from natural processes. There are both flammable and non-flammable natural gases. The term "natural gas" generally refers to flammable gases whose main constituents are hydrocarbons. According to their origin, these gases are classified as gas dissolved in water, non-associated gas, coal bed gas.

Natural Gas Dissolved in Water Derived from the Marvelous Activities of Nature

KNG produces gas dissolved in water, a type of methane gas created when organic materials deep underground are decomposed by bacteria. Geologically speaking, these organic materials began as vegetation flourishing during the Quaternary periods of the Cenozoic era, which were characterized by extensive glaciation and the evolutionary development of man. Over great stretches of time, these organic materials underwent changes, gradually becoming more concentrated through dissolving in water contained in the Earth's crust. The time-scale required for the formation of this gas is difficult for the human mind to grasp. Natural gas is one of the wonders of Mother Nature.

What are the Features of Natural Gas Dissolved in Water?

In Japan, deposits of gas dissolved in water exist in Niigata, Chiba, Miyazaki and Okinawa. Chiba prefecture is the largest producer.
We are exploiting the Southern Kanto gas field. In terms of both production and reserves, it is the largest field of natural gas dissolved in water in Japan. Gas produced from the Southern Kanto gas field is 99% methane, a source of clean energy free from carbon monoxide. It is used as city gas because of its high calorific value and high efficiency. Moreover, as this gas does not contain sulfur, it is useful as a raw material in the chemical industry.
