Clean Energy
The natural gas developed by KNG in Chiba is very pure, consisting of approximately 99% methane. It is a very clean energy source that contains little carbon monoxide or impurities such as sulfur (less than 1%), which cause pollution. With a specific gravity of 0.56 relative to atmospheric air, natural gas will diffuse into the atmosphere in the event of a leak. This property makes it a very safe form of energy.
Furthermore, Chiba natural gas has a high heating value of 39 megajoules per cubic meter and can be used as city gas without any alterations to its composition.
Smell of the gas
The natural gas developed by our company essentially has no smell. On the other hand, the urban gas, which is used in homes, has a "gaseous smell." This is given to make it easier to detect any leakage. This smell is harmless to humans and is deliberately made offensive so that it can be easily distinguished from the general smells in our daily lives
